At the request of Costa Rica's metal machining business association and in collaboration with the Ministry for Science & Technology and the Chamber of Industry, a preliminary analysis was made in January of the Central American country's current industrial production and training situation.Experts from Basque-based machine-tool institute IMH went to Costa Rica recently to visit 20 organizations in search of first-hand knowledge of the situation there and to produce a preliminary analysis of the country's metal machining industry.Once the visits ended, the experts drew up a report comparing the situation in Costa Rica with the Basque Country, together with a SWOT analysis as the basis for proposals for future action.9
